Actor Heo Seong-tae returns in a crime action comedy.
Heo Seong-tae appears as Oh Nam-hyeok in the film "Informer," which opens on Dec. 3.
"Informer" is a crime action comedy about former ace detective Oh Nam-hyeok, who was demoted and lost his passion, will and investigative instinct, and informant Jo Tae-bong, who supplied information on major cases and pocketed ill-gotten money, who accidentally get involved in a big operation. Director Kim Seok, who debuted with the short film "Humanist," a 2008 CJ Young Festival award-winning short, wrote and directed the film.
Heo Seong-tae plays detective Oh Nam-hyeok, who was demoted after the failure of the so-called "Ojakgyo Project" and now tries to use informants to pull off a score. Known for his solid presence in various crime works, Heo Seong-tae will showcase a different comic performance in "Informer" and captivate global viewers.
Ahead of its release, "Informer" was selected as the opening film of the 24th New York Asian Film Festival held on July, drawing attention. At the time, Heo Seong-tae attended the festival and raised anticipation by actively interacting with fans from the opening red carpet to the GV (guest talk) events.
Heo Seong-tae, who debuted on SBS's "Miracle Audition" in 2011, has earned the label "celebrated actor" through roles in films such as "The Outlaws," "The Age of Shadows," the Disney+ original series "Casino," and the Coupang Play series "Bait." In particular, he drew global attention for his standout villain role as Jang Deok-su in the Netflix original series "Squid Game," delivering a possessed performance as a villain and asserting an unparalleled presence.
In the drama "Good Boy," which ended in July, he played Gang Special Operations Team leader Go Man-sik and received great love. Portraying Go Man-sik, a former wrestling athlete, with delicate acting that revealed various charms, he perfectly handled grave action and unexpected comedy, marking the birth of another signature role.
