(Kim Se-jeong) "When I heard that the co-star was Kang Tae-oh and reread the script, I felt like the puzzle pieces that hadn't fit were gradually coming together. So I thought I could do the role well"
The leads of the MBC Friday-Saturday drama Moon River (hereafter "Moon River"), Kang Tae-oh and Kim Se-jeong, who are counted among the most anticipated works of the second half of the year, visited Cosmopolitan ahead of the broadcast. The two, who perfectly embodied a romantic pictorial concept with uncommon "chemistry," candidly revealed behind-the-scenes stories of Moon River in an interview following the pictorial shoot.
First, they were asked what led them to join the project. Kim Se-jeong said, "To be honest, when the offer came I ran away a few times. I felt I still lacked a lot to show every side in a work that contains various aspects. Then I heard the co-star would be Kang Tae-oh. When I put Kang Tae-oh into the script and read it again, answers to several previously puzzling scenes began to appear. (omitted) I originally like challenges and learning, so I wondered why I tried to avoid it so much. In the end, I joined the project with the mindset of 'What can't I do!'"
Kang Tae-oh said, "I once went to have my fortune told for fun, and they said I should do sageuk or romance genres. Shortly after, I had my saju read and was told to stay close to water and trees. (laughs) Then the offer to appear in Moon River came, and it was a project that fit all the elements I mentioned: sageuk, romance, water and trees. (omitted) So I had a good impression of the project and when I read the script it was so much fun. I immediately said I wanted to do it without hesitation."
About how he felt after finishing all the filming, Kang Tae-oh expressed regret, saying, "I feel really empty. It's because I won't see the people I saw every day for a year anymore. Isn't it like breaking up with a lover you met for a year? So when you have to refill the empty time with your own pattern, you really realize it's the end." On the other hand, Kim Se-jeong said, "I feel a little different. It actually feels like I made a really close friend. Although the drama is over, our bond is just beginning. We won't be able to see each other as often or contact each other as much as during filming, but we now have friends who will always cheer for each other from afar."
The drama Moon River is set to premiere on Friday the 31st at 9:50 p.m. on MBC. <
