On the the 19th episode of SBS entertainment show My Little Old Boy (My Little Old Boy), Bae Jung-nam's final moments with his dog Belle were shown. Belle died last month of a sudden heart attack. Belle's death was especially painful for Bae Jung-nam because she had miraculously recovered over 1 year and 7 months after being diagnosed with total paralysis from an acute slipped disk.
Bae Jung-nam couldn't stop crying, saying, "She could have lived a little longer." As he sobbed, "I'm sorry, dad, stay a little longer," he stayed by Belle's side even at the crematorium, shouting, "It's hot, what do I do, my baby is hot," as he let her go. After the cremation, holding Belle's ashes in his hands, he collapsed, saying, "Why did you get so small, now don't be in pain and rest," a scene that moved viewers.
For Bae Jung-nam, who lived alone without family since childhood, Belle was family, a friend and the reason for living. He revealed that having delivered newspapers alone since elementary school, meeting Belle was the first time he felt like he had a family.
At the end of the broadcast, Bae Jung-nam delivered his final farewell, saying, "Thank you for coming to me. Dad loves you very much." Afterwards, he posted on social media, "My daughter's last film photo development," sharing images of Belle when she was alive. Belle was still shown happy, running on the lawn and enjoying swimming.
