The group BOYNEXTDOOR shook up 'Cultwo Show' with a perfect Live Up to Your Name.
BOYNEXTDOOR (Seongho, Riu, Myeong Jaehyun, Taesan, Ihan, Unhak) grants on the SBS Power FM 'Two O'Clock Escape Cultwo Show' broadcast at 2 p.m. on the 21st.
They appeared on the 'special Live Up to Your Name' corner, a visual radio segment, where they showcased the title track 'Hollywood Action' from their mini fifth album 'The Action,' released the day before (the 20th). The six members delivered the stage with confident attitudes, drawing warm responses from listeners. Their perfect singing and free energy heightened the excitement.
Audience members at the venue sang along to songs that had been out for only a day and cheered by shouting the team name. On the included track 'It's You,' they displayed contrasting emotions. If they showed overflowing energy on 'Hollywood Action,' they offered mature expression and a sweet atmosphere with 'It's You.'
Um Ji-yoon, who co-hosted the corner with DJ Kim Tae-gyun, said, "Hearing BOYNEXTDOOR's Live Up to Your Name feels like my ears have been opened," and did not spare praise for their skills. Listeners also responded explosively, saying, "I've been waiting for this kind of genre," "I like that each member has a different vocal color," and "They sing so well. I want to keep supporting them."
As a team that writes songs themselves, they also had plenty to say about the production process. BOYNEXTDOOR said, "We get together and talk about lyrics. The process of writing lyrics feels new as we share ideas every day," and added, "'Hollywood Action' is a song made with attention to confidence. I hope listeners feel, 'These guys are the best' when they hear it." They also introduced tracks from the new release and earned a response by singing part of the included track 'Bathroom' a cappella.
Meanwhile, BOYNEXTDOOR has been riding a wave of success, hitting a 'career high' from the first day of their comeback. The title track 'Hollywood Action,' released at 6 p.m. on the 20th, reached No. 2 on Melon's 'Top 100' at 12 a.m. on the 21st, setting the group's personal best.
At the same time, the included tracks 'It's You' (No. 5), 'Live In Paris' (No. 7), 'Bathroom' (No. 9), and 'JAM!' (No. 11) ranked high on the 'Top 100.' According to album sales tracking site Hanteo Chart, the new release 'The Action' sold 636,002 copies on its release day, topping the daily album chart for the 20th.
