"Just Makeup" once again struck gold with stage makeup for idol group TWS.
On the Oct. 17 episode 6 of Coupang Play variety show "Just Makeup," released Oct. 17, an unprecedented stage that combined K-beauty and K-pop was born through the first team mission, drawing explosive reactions once more. Earlier, after the 1:1 deathmatch and a surprise additional qualifier, a total of 16 survivors were confirmed, and in this episode the team mission was carried out in earnest. The first mission was stage makeup for K-pop idol group TWS's "Lucky To Be Loved," and participants completed not only makeup but also the stage's narrative and direction, showing new possibilities for K-beauty.
"Just Makeup" is a large-scale makeup survival show in which makeup artists who represent K-beauty domestically and internationally fiercely compete with their own distinct colors. In this third round, the top four candidates for the win voted by participants — Paris Geumson, SonTail, First Man, and MakTist — became Heads of Team and faced off in stage makeup battles for K-pop groups TWS and STAYC. Under the extreme rule that all members of the winning team survive and all members of the losing team are eliminated, the judges' evaluations and votes from 100 fans were combined to decide the outcome, and the venue was gripped by more tension than ever. In the released episode 6, a destiny-deciding showdown unfolded between the strong contenders Team SonTail and Team Paris Geumson.
They expressed TWS's freshness as they grew from boys to young men with the signature color "sparkling blue." In particular, using NeverdeadQueen's makeup element skills, they incorporated the fandom name "42" as accents throughout, completing makeup that maximized the meaning of the fan song "Lucky To Be Loved." With costumes minimized in pattern and color and added strap details, the styling made the choreography flow like a single melody, which also drew attention. The stage, which delicately expressed connection with fans while maintaining each member's individual charm, left a deep impression on both fans and the judges.

With a minimal mood and points of frills and floral details, they completed styling that combined romance and strength. The lavish glitter and body makeup infused emotion across the stage and powerfully revealed Team Paris Geumson's originality.
Members of TWS on stage said, "We saw you replay our song many times to analyze it and think about what it means. We felt how honored and grateful we are to receive makeup made with such effort," and offered heartfelt thanks to the participants, leaving an even more meaningful moment. After the two teams' performances, the fan vote resulted in an ultra-close margin of just 16 votes. With the judges' votes yet to be added, curiosity grows about which team will ultimately win.
According to Coupang Play, "Just Makeup" rose to No. 1 among Coupang Play's popular works in its second week after release, with viewership up 748% — about 8.4 times — compared with the first week, drawing explosive reactions. Viewers continuously praised the show, saying, "The world of makeup is diverse," "art beyond makeup," "a competition that truly focuses on makeup," "it makes me expect the revival of the era of makeup," "the crystal parts hand decoration still lingers before my eyes," "I now fully understand why makeup artists reach the level of art," and "a truly new attempt. I binged through the first six episodes." As episodes continue and the competition and emotional narratives grow fiercer, anticipation for the remaining survivors' journey is rising. New episodes are released every Friday at 8 p.m.
