When online exposés surrounding actor Lee Yi-kyung spread, his agency said the allegations were "false facts" and announced a strong response.
Earlier, capture images claiming Lee Yi-kyung sent messages containing explicit remarks had circulated on some online communities. The messages reportedly included Lee Yi-kyung making lewd comments that mentioned women's body parts, and as the posts spread quickly, controversy arose over their authenticity.
But the agency immediately denied the claims as "clear falsehoods." Today, the 20th, Sangyoung ENT, Lee Yi-kyung's agency, rebutted through an official statement that "the content being circulated through online communities and social media recently is not true." The agency added that "we are preparing legal measures for the damages caused by malicious rumors and the spread of false information."
Lee Yi-kyung has recently been active and beloved by the public through various entertainment programs such as MBC's "How Do You Play?" and ENA·SBS Plus's "I Am SOLO." His previously smooth career has suddenly been put on hold.
However, Lee Yi-kyung's side is currently drawing attention again by strongly denying the matter. Sangyoung ENT said, "We recognize the seriousness of this matter and plan to carry out all legal responses after calculating the scale of direct and indirect damages caused by the spread of false information," and urged, "Please be aware that indiscriminate posting or sharing may also be subject to legal action."
The agency added, "We will do our best to protect the artist through fan reports and our own monitoring." Since the agency firmly emphasized that the claims are "false facts," it remains to be seen what evidence and measures they will use to prove this going forward.<
