Actor Ji Ye-eun, who had paused activities for health reasons, will return through Running Man.
On Oct. 20, a representative of her agency, CP Entertainment, told OSEN, "Ji Ye-eun has recovered her health and participated in the recording of the SBS variety program Running Man held today (Oct. 20). We ask for continued support going forward," the agency said in an official statement.
Ji Ye-eun suspended activities for about two months beginning Aug. The reason was a health issue. At first, the agency said the reason was simply a health issue. This prompted various speculations about Ji Ye-eun's health condition.
As Ji Ye-eun was active as a regular member on Coupang Play's variety show Office Workers as well as Running Man, sudden rumors of health problems drew heavy interest. In fact, on the Oct. 12 broadcast of Running Man, Yoo Jae-suk said, "It was reported that Ye-eun's health was related to burnout, but that's not the case. She is receiving brief treatment now."
Meanwhile, a media outlet recently reported that Ji Ye-eun's health issue was "hypothyroidism." However, CP Entertainment drew a line on this, saying, "We cannot disclose detailed health information such as whether actor Ji Ye-eun is undergoing treatment because it is personal medical information."
Regarding this, CP Entertainment told OSEN, "Fortunately, actor Ji Ye-eun has returned. However, because health information is still personal medical information, we ask for understanding that we cannot disclose details," the agency said cautiously. It also asked for support as she returned through the Running Man recording.
A talent who graduated from the acting department at the Korea National University of Arts, Ji Ye-eun debuted as an actor in a 2017 play. She gained recognition after joining the Coupang Play variety SNL Korea series as a crew member and drawing attention for the "Daegari Flowerbed" character. Riding that momentum, she joined Running Man as a regular member and is active on numerous variety shows, including the Netflix variety Kian's Bizarre B&B.
