Singer Hwasa has returned with a completely changed look.
Fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar Korea released the November issue pictorial featuring Hwasa.
Hwasa, who made her comeback on the 15th with the new digital single "Good Goodbye," transformed into a short bob for this pictorial, showing the most relaxed and natural charm, unlike the intense, charismatic image she usually displays on stage.
In an interview conducted after the pictorial shoot, when asked why she chose the ballad genre for this comeback, Hwasa said, "This song is sung as 'Ahn Hye-jin' rather than 'Hwasa.' It's not the glamorous Hwasa on stage; I put my heart into the song as if writing an honest letter as one person."
She went on to say about the part she worried about most during the song's production, "I kept revising the lyrics hundreds of times, thinking, 'Why can't I write it any better?' But unexpectedly, there were moments when words suddenly flowed out. The words that came out naturally from inside me felt more sincere than grand phrases."
Hwasa also picked the line "Goodbye will hurt us but it will be graceful. You laugh loudly so I can pound the ground and regret it. Goodbye" as the lyric that best expresses the most honest feeling in this song.
Ahead of her recent comeback, Hwasa drew attention for dramatically changing to a bob style and for losing weight to the 40-kilogram range through dieting. About this, Hwasa appeared on Moonbyul's YouTube channel and said, "The song is somewhat delicate and fragile. It's someone with a story in their heart. Because of that, if you suffer emotionally your body loses a lot of weight, right? I wanted to go to that kind of tone, so I told the teacher the exercise method and changed the plan to a slender, delicate body. I did lose a lot."
