Comedian Lee Sugeun's wife, Park Ji-yeon, confided in acquaintances.
Park Ji-yeon said on the 20th, "After the surgery many thoughts passed through my mind, and during the recovery period I was not giving or receiving birthday presents. From my birthday I thought if I didn't receive anything they would all take care of it, so I'm sending congratulations first on their behalf."
She added, "The closer you are, the less they'll take care of you, so if they do take care of you it's still awkward."
She continued, "If I'm not feeling well, even seaweed soup can be difficult. If they don't take care of me that year, I'll be responsible for the seaweed soup the next year and the year after that. I'll take better care of things from now on."
Meanwhile, Park Ji-yeon was left with kidney damage in 2011 during her second pregnancy due to complications from preeclampsia. She later received a kidney transplant from her father, but it did not remain stable, and she has undergone dialysis for more than 10 years; this August she received a retransplant from her older brother and is recovering.
