The group TWS (TWS) is steadily rising in popularity, breaking its own first-week album sales records (album sales during the first week after release) with each release. According to Hanteo Chart on Oct. 20, TWS (Shin-yu, Do-hun, Young-jae, Han-jin, Ji-hoon, Kyung-min)'s fourth mini album play hard sold 639,787 copies during its first week of release (tracking period Oct. 13–19), placing it at the top ranks of the weekly album chart. In particular, on Oct. 16, the fourth day after its release, it already surpassed the first-week sales of their previous mini album TRY WITH US (558,720 copies), proving a steep growth trajectory. The title track OVERDRIVE builds on TWS's signature refreshing sound loved by the public, adding a powerful performance that is attracting attention. The song hit No. 1 on Bugs' real-time chart shortly after release and entered major domestic music charts such as Melon's Top 100. It also topped Japan's Line Music daily K-pop Top 100 chart for four consecutive days (Oct. 14–17), confirming global fans' interest. The music video for the song ranked high on YouTube Korea's trending music videos and weekly trending music video charts (tracking period Oct. 10–16). The OVERDRIVE "angtal challenge" is unquestionably a hot topic. The challenge features a signature move of shaking the shoulders playfully to the "Umm" lyric to express a fluttering heart, and its fresh charm has exploded on short-form platforms. Riding that momentum, OVERDRIVE reached No. 7 on Instagram's Reels rising audio chart (as of 9 p.m. Oct. 19), making it the only boy group song in the chart's top 10. play hard is an album symbolizing TWS's growth from their innocent boyhood to passionate youth. Through the pre-release track Head Shoulders Knees Toes, they revealed determination to break limits with fierce performance. Their eye-catching group choreography and technique proved why they are called the fifth-generation performance powerhouses. Meanwhile, on the title track OVERDRIVE, TWS pours out the team's strengths—versatile talent, healthy energy and refreshing beats. Each stage has shown a more developed side of the group, clearly imprinting TWS's identity and earning praise. TWS will appear on cable channel SBS funE's The Show tomorrow (Oct. 21) to perform their new song.
