TWS member Shinyu took a successful first step as a music show host.
Shinyu was chosen as a fixed MC for SBS's Inkigayo and took his first turn hosting on the broadcast on Oct. 19. He delivered a confident first greeting, saying, Today I have waited only for this. Inkigayo's personal color "MC Yu," TWS's Shinyu.
That day, Shinyu signaled he would be a new focal point for Inkigayo with his soft and warm charm. He maintained steady hosting with a comfortable mid-to-low voice, and during interview time he actively joined the singers' dance challenges to provide rich visual entertainment. Also, throughout the broadcast Shinyu conveyed pleasant energy by giving off a fresh vibe befitting the epithet "first love visual."
A special performance commemorating his MC debut was also presented. Shinyu performed the stage for SHINee's "Noona, You're So Pretty (Replay)" with Eui-ju of &TEAM, who co-hosted as an MC. Appearing in a pink knit, he excited viewers with relaxed, clean dance lines. Even though it was their first time performing together, Shinyu and Eui-ju showed precise synchronized choreography, raising expectations for future chemistry.
The comeback stage of TWS (Shinyu, Dohun, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, Kyungmin), of which Shinyu is a member, also drew attention. They sang live the title track "OVERDRIVE" from mini album 4 play hard and the pre-release song "Head Shoulders Knees Toes." The members showcased dynamic performances as they moved between the refreshing, powerful-sounding title track and the intense-energy pre-release song.
In particular, the title track's "angtal challenge" section drew attention. It's a point choreography that reveals a fluttering heart by playfully shaking the shoulders to the "Umm" lyric. The six members added viewing fun by exploding their charms with various gestures.
Before going on stage, the members shouted during the comeback interview, Congratulations on your MC debut. Please take good care of our Shinyu, proudly showing their strong camaraderie.
After completing his MC debut, Shinyu conveyed his thoughts through HYBE music group label Pledis Entertainment, saying, I prepared for the first broadcast with a nervous and excited heart. Thanks to the support of 42 (the fandom name) I was able to finish safely. I hope this will be a time to learn a lot and grow. I will make every Sunday a happy day, so please look forward to it.
Earlier, with member Dohun active as an MC on MBC's Show! Music Core, Shinyu also taking the lead on Inkigayo means two members will be fronting terrestrial music shows. Show! Music Core airs every Saturday at 3:15 p.m., and Inkigayo airs every Sunday at 3:20 p.m.
Meanwhile, TWS is showing rapid growth with mini album 4 play hard surpassing the first-week sales of their previous release in just four days.
