Actress Lee Joo-an revealed the casting backstory of "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty."
Omniscient Interfering View, the MBC variety show that aired on Oct. 18, featured Kim Seok-hoon and Lee Joo-an.
Lee Joo-an, who received much love for her role as Gong-gil in the drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty, shared the casting story.
Lee Joo-an said, "There is the very famous 'Wang's Man' Gong-gil, right? I went to the audition looking very pure. They watched an hour and a half of my acting. They said, 'Everything is good but this is not the Gong-gil we imagined. We wanted macho, sexy,'"
Lee Joo-an, who really wanted the Gong-gil role, explained, "I said I would get a tan. The second audition lasted more than two hours. The last scene was one of rage. Others couldn't cry, but the times I had gone through flashed by and I sobbed for five minutes."
Lee Joo-an added, "I got the acceptance call at home and cried in the shower for 30 minutes," recalling her feelings at the time.
