Kim Jae-wook served as the ceremonial first pitcher for the second game of the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League postseason playoff between the Hanwha Eagles and the Samsung Lions at Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark on the afternoon of Oct. 19. Known as a passionate fan of the Hanwha Eagles, he drew attention by appearing in an orange uniform.
Before the first pitch, Kim Jae-wook said, "I am happy to be invited to this special fall. I hope both teams show their best skills and put on a great game," and he shouted, "Following yesterday, we win today too. Go, strongest Hanwha Eagles," drawing loud cheers from home fans.
In particular, he stepped onto the pitcher's rubber, took his stance and stylishly threw a curveball with his left hand. Commentators watching this praised him, referring to the Hanwha Eagles' legendary left-handed pitchers and saying, "His appearance really reminds me of Koo Dae-seong."
