Broadcaster and model Lee Hyun-yi shared an update after fracturing her nasal bone during a soccer match.
On Oct. 18, her YouTube channel "Working Mom Lee Hyun-yi" posted a video titled "Lee Hyun-yi who intended to introduce neighborhood outing looks ended up showing all the clothes she will wear this fall."
Lee Hyun-yi recently suffered a fractured nasal bone while filming SBS "Those Who Strike Soccer." She said, "My nose was broken. I spent a month secluded at home without doing anything. As soon as I began to recover and the splint was removed from my nose, I went back to filming."
Lee Hyun-yi said, "I headed the ball while playing soccer. If I were a professional player I would have looked around, but I headed while watching only the ball. The opposing player was also watching only the ball and stepped back, hitting the back of my head. It was 100% my fault. It was an accident."
Holding the splint, Lee Hyun-yi added, "Because the bone was broken, they put in something like an instrument to set it back to its original shape. They said it takes three months to return to normal. Since I'm older, I really have to be careful. The swelling went down and I was fine, so I started my activities again."
On Oct. 16 she posted on her social media account, "While eagerness during a soccer match led to my nasal bone being fractured. So I'm taking a break from soccer and doing various things I couldn't do. Fortunately I have recovered well and my nose is back to how it was. Thank you to those who were worried!!"
In the released photos, Lee Hyun-yi is hospitalized and receiving treatment for a fractured nasal bone. Experiencing her first cast at age 42, Lee Hyun-yi complained about the pain from the fracture, saying, "If it weren't for this I would have died. I couldn't breathe through my nose, so for several days I had to keep wetting my mouth with this spray." She said she could hardly eat properly and lived on liquid meals, adding, "They told me to eat only this. But even this wouldn't go down."
Fortunately, Lee Hyun-yi was able to recover quickly. She shared an X-ray and said, "They said the bone has healed well. Thank you to those who were worried."
Meanwhile, Lee Hyun-yi currently appears on SBS "Those Who Strike Soccer" and "Hot spots to touch! Neighborhood cool houses."
