The publisher Munhakdongne mourned the late writer Baek Se-hee, author of "I want to die but I want to eat tteokbokki."
Munhakdongne said on its official social media on Oct. 19, "With 'I want to die but I want to eat tteokbokki,' she gave many readers a deep resonance, and writer Baek Se-hee, who contributed to the animal rights anthology "Not different: love and freedom," passed away on Oct. 16, 2025, at the age of 35."
It added, "We will remember the writer who loved literature and animals more than anyone for a long time. We offer our deepest condolences to the deceased."
Meanwhile, the late Baek Se-hee died on Oct. 16. She was 35. Baek was declared brain-dead and donated her heart, lungs, liver and both kidneys, saving five lives before she passed away.
