tvN 'House On Wheels: Hokkaido' Jang Nara encounters an unexpected obstacle on the second day of her world wandering.
tvN 'House On Wheels: Hokkaido' (directed by Shin Chan-yang, Kim Ah-rim; hereafter "House On Wheels"), CJ ENM's flagship hit variety IP returning after three years, is based on the concept of taking a trip with your own home and follows the "House On Wheels," which spent four seasons traveling across Korea, on a new adventure as it crosses the sea to the world. Following veterans Sung Dong-il and Kim Hee-won, the show's first female homeowner Jang Nara joins to provide fresh entertainment, and the premiere recorded a highest 4.7% household rating in the Seoul metropolitan area on Nielsen Korea's paid platforms, 2.2% in the 20-49 demographic, a nationwide household high of 4.5%, and 2.2% in the 20-49 demographic, ranking first among cable and general programming and taking its first step amid favorable reviews.
In episode 2, airing today (19th), the "three siblings" Sung Dong-il, Kim Hee-won and Jang Nara begin their official journey together with their first housewarming guests Um Tae-gu and Shin Eun-soo. Starting with "Chef Sung" Sung Dong-il's first housewarming dish, the episode promises abundant sights, from Kim Hee-won's "Hee-won tour," which exceeds imagination, raising anticipation.
That day Sung Dong-il ambitiously unveils a "giant iron plate about 1m wide." Sung Dong-il dons the "Chef Sung signature apron" gifted by actress Gong Hyo-jin, who previously appeared as a guest on House On Wheels, and begins cooking. At that moment Um Tae-gu attracts attention by gently tying the apron strings for him. On the second day, Kim Hee-won's planned "Hee-won tour" begins. Having traveled the area several years ago, he designed the itinerary himself based on his memories and information obtained from acquaintances. Kim Hee-won expresses confidence in the "Hee-won tour," saying, "It will really be fine," raising the family's expectations further.
But soon, due to fading memories, he repeatedly asks, "Where was this again?" and begins to arouse the family's suspicion. The tour includes an exploration of a natural cave 100 meters underground, and Jang Nara, who followed thinking it was a tourist spot, is reportedly so surprised by the unexpected formation of a "cave exploration team" that her jaw trembles and her pupils quake.
Viewers are left wondering what the beyond-imagination "Hee-won tour" will look like and whether the suspicious guide Kim Hee-won will be able to finish the tour safely.
