Group ILLIT member Wonhee captivated viewers with a dazzling performance befitting a "variety show gem."
Wonhee, after presenting the first episode of her solo web variety show Today's Heomnanhee on Oct. 17, appeared on cable channel tvN's variety show Amazing Saturday on the 18th, showcasing a definite presence.
Today's Heomnanhee, which drew attention as her first solo MC role on a variety show since debut, depicts the wild world experiences of an eccentric, lively idol. Wonhee added energy to the program by leading it with her distinctive cheerfulness and quick wit.
She was briefly startled after tasting a cake that the production team had prepared as an MC initiation prank with hidden horseradish, but she soon responded wittily by calmly feeding the cake to the staff, drawing laughter. Her smooth hosting skills also stood out. During an intern experience at a hair academy, Wonhee naturally communicated with not only the guest but also various customers, creating a warm atmosphere on set. She also brightened the mood further by spontaneously dancing with customers in a cheerful scene.
She left a strong impression on Amazing Saturday as well. Wonhee appeared as a representative of the "5th generation variety show gems" alongside BoyNextDoor's Myung Jaehyun, IZNA's Bang Jimin, and Hearts2Hearts' IAAN, delivering lively energy. Wonhee proved her variety show talent with bouncy reactions and an enjoyable wit each time she immersed herself in the games. She surprised everyone with outstanding choreography execution and highly synchronized vocal impressions.
Viewers praised her, saying "Wonhee has a cute and spirited charm," "Her passion is overflowing and it's nice to watch," and "She's a sure-fire variety character. She seems likely to be very active on variety shows going forward."
ILLIT, the group Wonhee belongs to, is preparing to make a comeback in November. Also that month, on Nov. 8-9, they will hold a fan concert titled 2025 ILLIT GLITTER DAY ENCORE at Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Songpa District, Seoul, creating special memories with fans. According to HYBE Music Group label Belif Lab, the performance sold out all seats on the first day of presale.
