To the Moon actress Jo Ah-ram captivated home viewers with a rollercoaster-like charm.
Jo Ah-ram delicately depicted the complex emotions of Kim Ji-song, who ended a long-term relationship, in episodes 9 and 10 of the MBC Friday-Saturday drama To the Moon (written by Na Yoon-chae, directed by Oh Da-young and Jung Hoon) broadcast the afternoons of Oct. 17 and 18.
In that broadcast, when Kim Ji-song's long-awaited meeting with her boyfriend Wei Lin (played by Zhang Hao) fell through, she poured out her hidden feelings in tears. She also showed a cute charm as she fluttered between excitement and embarrassment at the transformation of Assistant Manager Oh (played by Ahn Dong-gu), who likes her, and added honest charm by expressing realistic feelings with apologetic tears when rejecting a confession.
Ji-song, whose mood had been swinging all day due to investment fluctuations, felt hurt by sudden rumors of Eun-sang's (played by Ra Mi-ran) resignation and news of a real estate listing, but after learning of Eun-sang's effort to cover her falling crypto amount, they all temporarily set aside investments and daily life and went on a temple stay, confirming their solid friendship.
Jo Ah-ram vividly portrayed the realistic aspects of a relationship, from sweet moments with a lover to tears of parting. She also showed a cute charm as she fluttered between excitement and embarrassment at the transformation of the boss who likes her, and in the scene where she rejects a confession, she delicately expressed emotions that change freely, showcasing varied acting variations. Alongside Da-hae (played by Lee Sun-bin) and Eun-sang, she showed a womance that developed through conflicts and friendship caused by investments, captivating viewers with the character's fresh, lively visuals and steady acting skills.
She especially conveyed the character's psychological changes naturally by carefully bringing to life even her gaze, expressions and single actions, showing both freshness and emotional depth at the same time, which heightened immersion in the drama. Jo Ah-ram's multifaceted charm and steady acting made her presence firmly felt like "a human vitamin."
Starring Jo Ah-ram, To the Moon is a drama that depicts a hyperrealism survival story about three women from poor backgrounds who cannot survive on their salaries alone and jump into crypto investment, and it ends Oct. 25.
