Singer Hwasa explained the reason for her weight loss as she made a comeback with a dramatically changed appearance.
On the 17th, a video titled "I also have members" was posted on Mamamoo's Moonbyul's YouTube channel "Moonbyul-ida."
In the video, after Moonbyul invited Hwasa, she could not hide her surprise, saying, "Why did you lose so much weight? Did you lose it because of the comeback? You lost way too much." Hwasa said, "I changed my workout routine because of the comeback. My stage style is very intense, and because I run from the first song to the last song, if I go to a very thin body type, I can't handle it."
Hwasa said, "There is no tension in the dance. I like that chewy quality, and for me a body with some flesh and muscle suits me better."
Nevertheless, the reason Hwasa went on a diet was because of the new song. Hwasa explained, "The new song is delicate and fragile. I told the producer I wanted my body to go to that kind of tone, like how stress makes you lose weight. So we changed the plan to a delicate body."
After hearing Hwasa's explanation, Moonbyul clicked her tongue and said, "But you really lost a lot. If you feel it from photos, you really lost a lot."
Last September, Hwasa was swept up in dating rumors with businessman A, who is 12 years her junior, reporting a five-year relationship. It was reported that the two became romantically involved five years ago when A, who worked in the music industry, pursued Hwasa, but Hwasa's side neither confirmed nor denied it.
Later, on the YouTube channel "Narae-sik," where Hwasa appeared with model Han Hye-jin, she mentioned a breakup by asking, "Aren't we all single now?" At the time the dating rumors surfaced she said nothing, but by directly saying she was "single," she put an end to the dating rumors.
Hwasa released the new song "Good Goodbye" on the 15th. "Good Goodbye" began with the question of whether a "good farewell" is possible, and it honestly captured the sincere wish for the other person's happiness amidst memories of a warm breakup and lingering sadness. Hwasa's distinctive emotional voice was added over a rhythmic melody.
