MBC announcer Kim Su-ji has welcomed her first daughter into her arms.
Kim Su-ji posted a single photo on her personal SNS on Oct. 16 with a short caption saying, "I will eat well."
The revealed photo showed a fruit basket sent from MBC's announcer bureau, and congratulations confirmed the recent birth.
Earlier, Kim Su-ji had directly confessed that she once went to the restroom during MBC Newsdesk because of severe morning sickness, drawing attention. She said, "I was able to broadcast up to five days before delivery thanks to viewers' warm attention," and left a greeting via the broadcast.
Born in 1989 and 35 years old this year, Kim Su-ji joined as a contract employee in 2017 and succeeded in becoming a full-time employee in 2018. She married singer Han Gi-ju, who is the same age, in 2022, and in addition to her broadcasting work she is active as a lyricist who has contributed to songs by Red Velvet, NCT DREAM, NMIXX and ENHYPEN.
Kim Su-ji will begin about four months of maternity leave and step away from the anchor desk temporarily, then recover her health and return.
