SBS 'Would You Merry Me' actors Choi Woo-shik and Jung So-min foreshadow a change in their relationship after an unexpected first kiss.
SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Would You Merry Me' (directed by Song Hyun-wook, Hwang In-hyeok / written by Lee Ha-na / produced by Studio S, Samhwa Networks) is a sweet-and-savage 90-day fake newlywed period about two people fighting to win a luxury newlywed home prize. Episode 3 recorded a peak rating of 7.2%, 6.3% in the Seoul metropolitan area, and a peak 2.6% in the 20-49 demographic, making it not only the No. 1 Friday drama but also the top program in its time slot, according to Nielsen Korea.
In episode 3, Kim Woo-joo (played by Choi Woo-shik) and Yoo Merry (played by Jung So-min) were at risk of having their identities exposed during a wedding photo shoot. At that moment, Woo-joo gave Merry a surprise kiss to avert the crisis, delighting viewers.
Woo-joo and Merry are entangled as a fake married couple by fate, tied to each other through a business 'transaction' without truly knowing one another. But the wedding shoot becomes the turning point that creates a subtle shift between them. In particular, after the unexpected first kiss, Woo-joo and Merry begin to notice each other little by little and face changes in their relationship. Especially notable is that Woo-joo, who used to draw a line telling Merry "don't give me anything to worry about," is now quietly helping her, even suggesting the wedding shoot. The way the two, who started as a fake married couple, begin to take each other seriously provokes excitement in viewers.
Meanwhile, the 'Would You Merry Me' side has teased the appearance of Merry's ex-fiancé Kim Woo-joo (played by Seo Beom-jun), focusing attention on what promises to be a more turbulent development. The arrival of Woo-joo, Merry's legal husband on paper and her ex-fiancé, is set to stir up their relationship. In the released stills, Merry's ex-fiancé Woo-joo is shown arriving at the airport, walking briskly while contacting someone, heightening tension.
In response, the production team of 'Would You Merry Me' said, "In episode 4 airing today (18th), the scenes of Woo-joo and Merry beginning to be aware of each other after their first kiss will tingle viewers' hearts. Please also look forward to the upheaval expected with the appearance of Merry's ex-fiancé Woo-joo."
Meanwhile, episode 4 of 'Would You Merry Me' will air today at 9:50 p.m.
