The film Boss (director: Ra Hee-chan | production: HYBEMEDIACORP Co., Ltd. | presentation/distribution: HYBEMEDIACORP Co., Ltd., Mindmark Co., Ltd.) surpassed 2.16 million admissions, posting the highest score among October releases since the pandemic.
Boss is a comic action film about the desperate showdown of organization members who, ahead of selecting the next boss on whom the organization's future depends, fiercely "yield" the boss position to one another for the sake of their own dreams. Having taken first place at the box office upon release and continued its run, Boss surpassed a cumulative audience of 2,169,207 on Friday the 17th.
This number surpasses the film 30 Days, starring Kang Ha-neul and Jung So-min, which drew the largest audience among October releases since the 2020 pandemic, setting a new highest score record.
Prior to release, Boss proved strong audience interest by ranking first in advance ticket sales, and after release it achieved eight consecutive days at number one on the overall box office, becoming the top hit of this Chuseok holiday season. It also surpassed 1 million admissions in five days and drew 2 million viewers at the fastest pace among October releases since the pandemic, repeatedly setting new box office records, so attention is focused on the further records Boss will achieve.
Led by the acting synergy and comic chemistry of Jo Woo-jin, Jung Kyung-ho, Park Ji-hwan and Lee Gyu-hyung, Boss has captured audiences' hearts and is expected to continue a long run into its third week with unabating box office enthusiasm.
