Group EXO alumnus Tao (Huang Zitao) has tied the knot with SM Rookies alumnus singer and actor Xuying.
According to local media, Tao and Xuying held their wedding on the 16th in Sanya, Hainan province, China. This comes about 10 months after they registered their marriage and released their marriage certificate in December last year.
News of Tao and Xuying's marriage became public in August. At the time, Tao said on a variety show, "this October I will hold a wedding with my wife Xuying," and he expressed a desire to reserve more than 100 seats for fans to make it an event shared with them.
Tao, who considered broadcasting the wedding live for fans who could not attend in person, actually put that into action. The wedding was held with family members from both sides and close acquaintances invited, and some scenes were broadcast live so fans could watch.
Tao and Xuying's wedding followed a Milky Way concept. Amid fireworks and artificial snow, scenes of the two exchanging vows and kissing were released through online communities and social media accounts.
Tao and Xuying share the common background of having been with SM Entertainment. They are currently under the same roof at China's Longtao Entertainment. Tao debuted as an EXO member in 2012 but left in 2015 and has been active in China since then.
Xuying joined SM Entertainment as a trainee in 2014 and appeared on MY SMT in 2016 alongside aespa member Ningning. She left SM Entertainment in 2018 and has been active in China, having tried out for several audition programs.
