With Im Chae-moo stepping up as the new boss on KBS2's Deputy Minister's ears are donkey ears, for the first time his daughter, Deputy Minister Im Go-woon, reveals a precarious day at debt-ridden Duriland.
KBS 2TV's Deputy Minister's ears are donkey ears (directed by Ahn Sang-eun; hereafter "Deputy Minister's ears") is a self-reflection program in which Korea's bosses voluntarily practice empathy to create workplaces worth working at. It is a leading variety show riding a winning streak, recording a peak rating of 6.9% for episode 327 and maintaining first place in its time slot for entertainment shows for 176 consecutive weeks (Nielsen Korea).
The 328th episode of Deputy Minister's ears, which airs on the 19th (Sun), features Duriland CEO Im Chae-moo, who wants to be a "light debt" rather than a "heavy debt," stepping up as the new boss. In this episode, his daughter, Deputy Minister Im Go-woon of the operations planning team, lays bare the extent of her father's extraordinary affection for Duriland.
Im Chae-moo introduces himself as "actor Im Chae-moo, 53 years in the business," but he is currently better known as the "Duriland CEO" than as an actor. After his first appearance on Park Myung-soo's "Walking to the boss's house," he became a hot topic because of his debt, prompting Park Myung-soo to quip, "I raised Im Chae-moo. He originally cleaned the amusement park," drawing laughter. However, Im Chae-moo grumbles, "You should have raised me earlier." Also, Jun Hyun-moo noted, "If you write the name in English, it's Im Chae-moo," evoking laughter about Im Chae-moo's fate being inseparable from debt.
Alongside the arrival of the new boss, his wife, director Kim So-yeon, who heads the finance team, and their daughter, Deputy Minister Im Go-woon of the operations planning team, appear together and reveal a beauty strikingly similar to Im Chae-moo. When Deputy Minister Im Go-woon appears, Park Myung-soo exclaims, "They look alike," unable to hide his surprise at the resemblance between father and daughter.
That day Im Chae-moo insists, "I've never lost my temper with employees," but Deputy Minister Im Go-woon counters, "He's a nagging bombardier and has obsessive cleanliness." In particular, it is said that Im Chae-moo ordered his daughter, "If you don't want to hear nagging, stay at home. If you want to be part of society, endure it," foreshadowing a brewing father-daughter war.
The struggles of Deputy Minister Im Go-woon, who manages employees at debt-ridden Duriland alongside Duriland CEO Im Chae-moo, who is synonymous with debt, will be revealed in the full broadcast of Deputy Minister's ears.
Meanwhile, KBS 2TV's Deputy Minister's ears airs every Sunday at 4:40 p.m.
