In episode 5 of KBS 1TV daily drama Marie and Her Three Daddies, scheduled to air this afternoon (17th) (directed by Seo Yong-su / written by Kim Hong-ju / produced by LI Entertainment, Monster Union), a full-scale "Marie" battle erupts between Joo Si-ra (played by Park Eun-hye) and Kang Min-bo (played by Hwang Dong-ju), and a rivalry between Lee Pung-ju (played by Ryu Jin), who returned to Korea, and Jin Gi-sik (played by Gong Jeong-hwan) also unfolds.
Earlier, Min-bo returned to Korea to take Marie. He suggested to Marie the training life in the United States, and by asking for Si-ra's phone number and meeting her, he seemed poised to settle matters with her. Also, with Pung-ju, who entered the country at the request of his former mentor Eom Gi-bun (played by Jeong Ae-ri), and Gi-sik's wary attitude toward him being portrayed, the narrative of conflict surrounding Marie showed signs of expanding.
In today's episode, Si-ra meets Min-bo, who came to her house to find her. The awkward atmosphere over a reunion after more than 20 years heats up. Si-ra looks at Min-bo with a sharp gaze as if afraid he will take her precious daughter Marie away, and Min-bo, undeterred, declares he will take Marie. Seeing this quarrel, Marie's grandmother Yoon Sun-ae (played by Geum Bo-ra) sprinkles salt at Min-bo, foreshadowing the chaotic fight this family will have.
Meanwhile, Pung-ju and Gi-sik, who meet at the hospital, have an encounter that casts a subtle atmosphere. Gi-sik has regarded Pung-ju as his rival since the past and has been jealous that his mother-in-law Eom Gi-bun (played by Jeong Ae-ri) favors Pung-ju. Hearing that Pung-ju will come to Eom Hospital as the newly appointed Director of the hematology-oncology department, a jealous Gi-sik unnecessarily approaches Pung-ju and speaks to him. Pung-ju responds with a composed demeanor, raising the tension between the two.
With all the figures related to Marie's birth gathered in Korea, a full-fledged incident rises to the surface. Attention focuses on what will unfold as Marie becomes entangled with Si-ra, Min-bo, Pung-ju and Gi-sik.
KBS 1TV's Marie and Her Three Daddies episode 5 airs today (17th) at 8:30 p.m. Also, a marathon special of episodes 1–4 is scheduled today (17th) from 7:40 p.m., and starting Saturday the 18th, for four weeks, a special broadcast will air every Saturday from 3:15 p.m. to 5 p.m., allowing viewers to catch up on weekday episodes.
