Actress Clara announced her divorce six years after marriage.
On the 17th, Clara's agency KHS Agency told OSEN, "Clara completed the uncontested divorce proceedings in August," issuing an official statement.
Clara also conveyed through her agency, "I am sorry to share this unfortunate news with the many people who supported me."
Clara married Korean-American businessman Samuel Hwang in 2019.
Her agency added, "After long and careful discussions with her spouse, they reached this conclusion," and said, "Although the uncontested divorce was finalized in August, we ask for understanding for the delayed announcement because we needed to deeply consider the positions of both families and seek mutual understanding." The agency also asked, "Please continue to show unwavering interest and encouragement for Clara's efforts as an actress."
When she married, her "newlywed home" drew major attention more than anything else.
Ahead of a private wedding on Jan. 6, 2019, Clara herself disclosed that she had set up her newlywed residence at Signiel Seoul in Lotte World Tower, Songpa District, Seoul.
Later, through her Instagram she shared a Lunar New Year greeting, "The beautiful Seoul night view seen from home. Have a pleasant Lunar New Year holiday," revealing the living room of her newlywed home overlooking downtown Seoul and the Han River, and she also communicated with the public by showing how she had created an indoor garden on one entire wall with Crusia, an air-purifying plant, saying, "I made a garden in our home."
Clara was born in 1986 and is a British national of Korean descent. Clara debuted as an advertising model in 2004 and appeared in drama Transparent Man Choi Jang-su and High Kick Through the Roof!, among others. She rose to stardom after appearing as a ceremonial first pitch thrower in professional baseball while wearing leggings fashion.
Clara currently focuses her activities in China and continues to interact with global fans through drama, films and fashion photo shoots. In China she appeared in the drama "Xingfu Xie Xin Jiao Li" , "Qi Jin Xin Gan", and films "Sado Xingzhe" and "The Wandering Earth 2".
