Problem Child in House cast member Yang Se-chan shared his experience battling thyroid cancer.
On the afternoon of the 16th, the KBS2 variety show "Problem Child in House" (hereafter "Problem Child") featured the widely recognized devoted couple Park Si-eun and Jin Tae-hyun as guests.
Jin Tae-hyun, who said about 90 days have passed since his thyroid cancer surgery, said, "I've gotten healthier. I think I feel better after the surgery," and shared positive news. His wife Park Si-eun said, "I was actually surprised. I felt like something would come up. I didn't expect it to be cancer," explaining that although they anticipated some results because it was Jin Tae-hyun's first health checkup in his life, they did not expect it to be cancer.
Park Si-eun said, "It was early stage, so I was relieved and grateful," and added that her calm problem-solving nature helped them get through the crisis. She said this health check was carried out at her persistent urging. Park Si-eun explained, "I said it was our 10th wedding anniversary. It was also my first in 20 years. I kept persuading him," emphasizing that the wife's support played a decisive role in early detection.
Meanwhile, when Jin Tae-hyun revealed that he does not take thyroid medication, Yang Se-chan, who suffered the same illness, said, "Not having to take medicine is a blessing," expressing envy. Yang Se-chan said, "I continue to take medicine. It's been about 10 years for me," and recalled his reaction at the time of diagnosis: "At first it was shocking and I was surprised. Everything collapsed," conveying his painful feelings.
Jin Tae-hyun also said, "When I first heard it, it was a shock. I was depressed for about a day. After that, my wife helped me look into it," saying he was able to recover quickly with Park Si-eun's help.
