Singer and actor Lee Junho revealed behind-the-scenes footage from the Typhoon Family shoot.
Lee Junho recently uploaded a video titled "Typhoon home video - Apstreet Boys" to his YouTube channel "Lee Junho LEE JUNHO."
Currently, Lee Junho is starring as the lead Kang Taepung in tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama Typhoon Family. In episode 1, which aired last week, Taepung and his friends, nicknamed the "Apstreet Boys," visited the hottest nightspot in Apgujeong and were shown dancing.
To film that scene, Lee Junho, Kim Min-seok and others gathered in a practice room, warmed up briefly and began choreographing with dancer J Black.
Lee Junho said, "I came to practice for the club dancing scene that appears in episode 1. It's a scene where the Apstreet Boys feel like 'now we're here,'" and added, "I'm taking the center position." Assigned the five-person group routine and a duet routine with Nammo (played by Kim Min-seok), Lee Junho cleared them in quick succession.
However, aside from Lee Junho, a former 2PM member and experienced idol, the other actors struggled. Lee Junho said, "To be honest, I've never danced like this seriously in a production before, but I prepared for the stage," adding, "It's hard for me too. I can't bring out the teacher-like energy."
For a better performance, Lee Junho held additional meetings with the production team and actively suggested, "What if the sound were richer than it is now?" while playing and testing music. J Black said, "Hearing something professional helps me understand it too." Later, J Black had to leave early for another schedule, and Lee Junho took on the role of the members' dance instructor and led them.
Having quickly learned the full choreography, Lee Junho gave detailed advice on arm movements and shaped the overall framework. Watching from a distance, Lee Junho checked the members' choreography, and Kim Min-seok complained, "I don't know, I don't know, I can't do it without you."
Watching this, the Typhoon Family director marveled, "We need to pay him (for choreography) now, but how does he get it after seeing it once?" To this, Lee Junho laughed and said, "Oh~ I've been an idol in 2PM for 20 years."
Meanwhile, Typhoon Family depicts the struggling growth of rookie salesman Kang Taepung (played by Lee Junho), who becomes the president of a trading company in 1997 during the IMF crisis with no staff, no money and nothing to sell. Episode 1 recorded a nationwide household average rating of 5.9% and a peak of 7.1%, and a Seoul metropolitan household average of 5.7% and a peak of 7.1%, ranking first in its time slot across all channels including terrestrial broadcasters and becoming the highest first-episode rating among tvN Saturday-Sunday dramas in 2025. The 20-49 target rating also ranked first in its time slot across all channels with a nationwide average of 1.8% and a peak of 2.4% (based on paid platforms integrating cable, IPTV and satellite / provided by Nielsen Korea).<
