'길치라도 괜찮아' Kim Yong-bin showed off an exceptional 'poor sense of direction'
On the 16th morning at the Shocking K-Pop Center in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, an ENA new variety program '길치라도 괜찮아' press conference was held. PD Gong Dae-han, Song Hae-na, Kim Won-hoon, Park Ji-hyun, Son Tae-jin and Kim Yong-bin attended the press conference and spoke.
'길치라도 괜찮아' is a variety program in which flustered celebrities with poor sense of direction challenge trips custom-designed by creators. Song Hae-na and Kim Won-hoon join as MCs to add quick-witted banter, and Park Ji-hyun, Son Tae-jin and Kim Yong-bin, united as the 'poor sense of direction club,' set off on a bumpy journey.
When asked how he felt when he heard the title '길치라도 괜찮아,' Kim Yong-bin confessed, "I thought it might be a program where you go around without even a cellphone or anything. I haven't traveled alone, so I wondered whether this program suits me. I was a complete blank slate and worried whether I could do well appearing on this program, but I think I did very well."
Son Tae-jin continued, "I never thought of myself as someone with a poor sense of direction until now, but through this program I reconsidered the definition of poor sense of direction. It's not that you can't find the way, but how to go on a trip and efficiently come back with new experiences others haven't had. In that sense, it made me think I had wandered pointlessly on trips."
Park Ji-hyun said, "I also didn't think I had a poor sense of direction. While filming this program, I realized I could really get lost, and I think this is a program that can show anyone can become someone with a poor sense of direction."
Meanwhile MC Kim Won-hoon, when asked whether he thought the three were indeed someone with poor sense of direction, said, "I was so surprised when we recorded in the studio for the first time. I wondered how someone could be so bad at finding their way." He shared an episode, "As a small spoiler, Yong-bin used a navigation system, not a map app, to find his way. I thought they cast very well. It guides the roadways. Yong-bin ran around 20 to 30 km." To this, Kim Yong-bin nodded and said, "I wandered for three hours over a route that should have taken crossing just one traffic light."
In particular, when Kim Won-hoon was asked who among the three in the poor sense of direction club seemed the most directionless, he immediately answered, "Yong-bin," drawing laughter. He said, "I can only think of Yong-bin. Earlier Tae-jin and Ji-hyun are also quite directionless. But Yong-bin doesn't just have a poor sense of direction; he doesn't know how to walk. He has no sense of where to go at all, so I thought, 'there is such a character.' At the press conference venue that day, he almost turned around because he didn't know which way to go up the stairs."
Song Hae-na then said, "I'm Team Ji-hyun. She seems to do very well. But she has a charmingly clumsy side. Ji-hyun insists she's not directionless, but I think she might be a great example of someone with a poor sense of direction." Park Ji-hyun rebutted, "I disagree. I never thought I was directionless, and during filming I found my way very well. I found my way well, but not because I'm directionless; it was trial and error anyone could experience." Then Song Hae-na revealed, "She even opened a Korean map while abroad," adding more laughter.
