Model Lee Hyun-i was injured once again during a soccer match. This time it was a serious injury — a fractured nasal bone — raising concerns among fans.
On the 16th, Lee Hyun-i posted on her SNS, "While playing soccer I got ahead of myself and my nasal bone was fractured," and shared photos taken at the hospital. In the released photos she was lying on a hospital bed wearing a patient gown with a cast on her nose, and the sight of her lying there with a somewhat pale face drew pity from viewers.
Lee Hyun-i also recounted the pain at the time of the injury, saying, "I couldn't breathe through my nose, so I was worried my mouth would dry out and had to keep wetting it with a spray." Unlike her usual lively and cheerful persona leading Gol Ttaerineun Geunyeodeul (hereafter "Golttaenyeo"), the news of her lying in a hospital bed saddened fans.
In fact, this is not the first time news of Lee Hyun-i's injury has surfaced. In May she suffered a facial injury during filming of the SBS variety show Gol Ttaerineun Geunyeodeul and was taken away by ambulance. Meanwhile, as news of this injury spread, attention has focused on whether SBS will handle it as a work-related injury (industrial accident compensation). Previously Lee Hyun-i said on a web variety show, "My toenail fell off four times, but with SBS insurance it can be covered as a work-related injury. So many people get hurt that the system is well organized." Accordingly, there is speculation that this injury is also likely to be treated and rehabilitated through industrial accident compensation procedures.
