"I am Solo" announced the birth of a real couple from the 28th season divorced singles special in a novel way.
On the 15th broadcast of SBS Plus and ENA's "I am SOLO," from the opening Defconn, Song Hae-na and Lee Yi-kyung announced the birth of a marriage couple within the cohort.
First, the hosts began the broadcast singing "Congratulations~," and Defconn opened by saying, "Another marriage couple from 'I am Solo' has been born. It's producing the most couples of any dating variety show in Korea,"
Defconn introduced, "Gwang-su and Young-ja from season 20 are getting married. They have borne fruit," and Song Hae-na explained, "Even if they didn't become a couple in Solo-land, those who are meant to be will become a real match somehow." The two are not the final couple of 'I Am Solo' season 20, but they tied the knot as a married couple.
In addition, Lee Yi-kyung added, "Next week, season 10's Sang-chul, who overcame extremely long distance as a divorced single, and season 22's Jeong-suk will hold a wedding," announcing another couple's birth.
After finishing the opening, they reacted to the 28th season divorced singles special VCR, and just before the closing remarks the production team delivered an urgent notice. The production team began, "Wait a moment. Something miraculous has happened in Solo-land," and Defconn asked, "They say there's something to hugely celebrate in this divorced singles special this season. What is it?"
What was revealed to the hosts at that moment was an ultrasound image of a fetus. Through on-screen text, the production team explained, "There is a couple who bore fruit through continuous meetings after filming! Congratulations, Solo-land No. 28 house has a baby." They said the couple who met through "I am Solo" named the fetus' pet name "Nasol."
Defconn, surprised by the ultrasound image, shouted, "They say there's a baby," and Song Hae-na asked, "Who?" The hosts speculated, mentioning Ok-soon, Jeong-hee, Gwang-su, Young-ho, among others, and curiosity extended to the final couple as well.
Defconn said, "Viewers, we've given hints about the married couple before, but this is the first time we've heard a baby's heartbeat. We need to find the couple who bore fruit," and Lee Yi-kyung moved the audience to laughter by saying, "What other dating show lets you hear a heartbeat?"
Defconn added, "The heartbeat sounds so passionate that somehow this must be Kyung-su, honed by 30 years of exercise," and Song Hae-na kept saying, "Who is it? I'm dying to know," wondering about the parents' identities. Lee Yi-kyung cautiously predicted, "I said Gwang-su and Jeong-hee might get married; might it have even borne fruit with a child?" and Defconn raised expectations for next week's broadcast by saying, "Together with the viewers we must find Nasol's mom and dad."
Meanwhile, 'I am Solo' is an extreme realism dating program where single men and women who desperately want to marry gather and struggle to find love; it airs every Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. on ENA and SBS Plus.
