In the series adaptation of "Inside Men," producer-director Mo Wan-il has stepped down.
On the 16th, a representative of the production company Hive Media Corp. told OSEN, "Producer-director Mo Wan-il has stepped down from the series 'Inside Men.' A new director is still under discussion," in an official statement.
"Inside Men" is an adaptation of the film of the same name that was released in 2015 and is regarded as the highest-grossing adult-rated film in history. The film was honored at the 53rd Daejong Film Awards with best film, best screenplay and best planning awards, and at the 37th Blue Dragon Film Awards with best film, among others, drawing intense attention. As a result, news of the series production also raised expectations.
Moreover, the "Inside Men" series initially drew attention because actor Song Kang-ho was scheduled to appear as Lee Kang-hee. However, Song Kang-ho ultimately withdrew due to scheduling conflicts. In addition, director Mo Wan-il has also stepped down, and a new director is being discussed.
However, the production company is continuing to prepare the "Inside Men" series. In particular, following Song Kang-ho's withdrawal, OSEN's exclusive report says actor Lee Sung-min is being considered for the role of Lee Kang-hee, raising expectations.
