The drama adaptation of Korea's highest-grossing adult-rated film "Inside Men" will be newly assembled centered on actors Lee Sung-min and Ju Jihoon.
On the 16th, OSEN exclusively reported that Lee Sung-min and Ju Jihoon will appear in the new drama "Inside Men." According to multiple entertainment industry sources, Lee Sung-min is set to play the role of Lee Kang-hee, and Ju Jihoon is in discussions to appear in the drama "Inside Men" with various characters in mind.
"Inside Men" is a series adapted into a drama from the 2015 film of the same name. The film, including the director's cut, drew more than 9 million cumulative viewers, becoming the highest-grossing adult-rated film in Korean history and drawing attention. To mark the 10th anniversary of the film, HYBE Media Corp., which produced the film, is preparing a series.
The drama "Inside Men" was originally expected to feature actor Song Kang-ho, generating anticipation. In particular, Song Kang-ho was predicted to take the central role in the drama by playing the corrupt journalist Lee Kang-hee, portrayed in the film by actor Baek Yoon-sik. However, he ultimately withdrew due to scheduling conflicts.
Actors Soo-ae and Koo Kyo-hwan, who were also discussed to appear, likewise did not participate. Mo Wan-il, who was set to be the main director, also left the project. HYBE Media Corp. told OSEN "It is correct that Song Kang-ho, Koo Kyo-hwan and Soo-ae, along with director Mo Wan-il, have withdrawn. Among the previously reported actors, there is no change regarding the appearances of Lee Moo-saeng, Shin Seung-ho and Kim Ji-yeon."
Lee Sung-min is expected to be newly offered the role of Lee Kang-hee and serve as a focal point. In addition, Ju Jihoon is in discussions to appear together with various characters in mind. Regarding this, representatives for Lee Sung-min and Ju Jihoon told OSEN "We have been offered roles in the 'Inside Men' series and are currently reviewing them."
The drama "Inside Men" is planned as a single season of two parts centered on events and figures spanning the 1980s and 1990s. Lee Ki-chul, the writer of the films "The Thieves," "Assassination" and "Mogadishu," is in charge of the script. The production company plans to finalize the main casting and present the work in 2026. The schedule is undecided.<
