Singer and actor Lee Jun-young showcased charming chemistry with Aoi Yuu.
On the 16th, behind-the-scenes photos of the Japanese film "Tokyo Taxi (TOKYOタクシ)" in which Lee Jun-young appears were released.
The released images captured two-shot scenes of Lee Jun-young and Aoi Yuu dancing together against the backdrop of an old dance hall, drawing attention. The fresh visuals of the two, smiling brightly as they face each other, and the romance-filled mood raised global fans' expectations.
Ahead of filming, Lee Jun-young practiced with a dance instructor for a day to create more perfect scenes, rehearsing rhythm and the full blocking with Aoi Yuu before the main shoot, it was reported.
Lee Jun-young showed an embarrassed reaction, saying he didn't know where to put himself at director Yoji Yamada's playful remark, "There's even a kiss scene with Yuu-chan." But when the camera rolled, he immediately switched to a serious expression and proved his professionalism by creating the best scenes.
"Tokyo Taxi" is director Yoji Yamada's 91st work and is based on the French film "Paris Taxi," which was very popular in Japan in 2022. Set against a Tokyo that changes with the times, it is an emotive human drama depicting remorse, reconciliation and miraculous moments encountered at the end of life.
In particular, "Tokyo Taxi" features Japan's top stars Takuya Kimura, Chieko Baisho, Aoi Yuu and Takaya Sakoda. Joining them as a key cast member is Lee Jun-young, representing Korea, drawing intense interest from global fans.
Lee Jun-young makes his debut in Japanese cinema with "Tokyo Taxi." He plays Kim Young-gi, the protagonist Sumire's (Chieko Baisho) first love in his youth, and is expected to win audiences' hearts by showing deep emotional chemistry with Aoi Yuu, who plays the young Sumire.
The film "Tokyo Taxi," in which Lee Jun-young appears, is set to open nationwide in Japan on Nov. 21.
Meanwhile, Lee Jun-young will hold an encore fan meeting, "Scene by JUNYOUNG: Another Scene," on Nov. 1 at the Woori Financial Art Hall in Olympic Park, Seoul, meeting fans in two shows at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
