Singer-songwriter Yoo Hae-jun released a single album today (16th) that fully captures his warm and sincere lyricism, consisting of two songs: the title track "I love you" and the album track "You are my person".
The two songs presented this time are remake versions of songs that were included on Park Sang-min's 2024 album, completed by Yoo Hae-jun, the original songwriter and composer, singing them again in his own voice.
The title track "I love you" was originally released under the title "A gift called you." In this remake, Yoo Hae-jun changed the song's title and rewrote it into a new story that reflects his own sensibility and interpretation.
He said, "I wanted to sing while preserving the emotions I felt when I wrote this song. With my voice and heart changed over time, I wanted to capture the sincerity of that moment again," and he rebirthed it with his own delicate and warm sensibility, different from Park Sang-min's masculine and poignant interpretation.
Over an unexaggerated melody that holds a deep resonance within a calm confession, Yoo Hae-jun's sincere voice seeps in quietly. Expressing love that does not change over time and that pure feeling in his tone, it leaves a deep afterglow.
The album track "You are my person" was composed by Yoo Hae-jun with lyrics by Kang Woo-kyung, and it sings of the moment the world changes upon meeting one person. As the lyrics say, "At a time when there was nothing in the world, meeting you made life beautiful and begin to shine," it warmly captures how love changes life. Delicate piano lines and rich strings envelop the song overall, delivering a calm yet weighty emotion.
This album is not flashy, but it contains sincerity. Yoo Hae-jun's voice remains unadorned and conveys the emotion of love in its purest form. The love he sings about is not special. But because of that, it feels more realistic and lingers longer in the heart.
