Singer Park Jae-bum apologized over controversy surrounding a performance he gave at a charity event for a breast cancer campaign.
Park wrote on his social media (SNS), "After the official breast cancer campaign event ended, I understood the party and performance as being for the people on site who had gathered with good intentions despite busy schedules, so I just did it like a usual show," adding, "If any cancer patients watched my performance and felt offended or uncomfortable, I am sorry. I wish you good health."
He continued, "I also performed hard with a good heart and without pay despite being injured. Please don't take advantage of that goodwill." He then posted an additional message, saying, "My request not to take advantage was directed at those who are trying to create an issue out of actions done with good intentions. Please don't misunderstand."
Earlier, on the 15th, Park attended the "20th Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Charity Event," hosted by magazine W Korea at the Four Seasons Hotel in Jongno District, Seoul, and performed his hit song "MOMMAE." Some internet users said the song did not fit the purpose of the event. Afterward, W Korea deleted the video of Park's performance from its official social media.
