Singer Park Nam-jung expressed his conviction about smoking.
On the 15th, a new video titled "StayC song behind-the-scenes first reveal | I brought my dad (Feat. Park Nam-jung)" was posted on the YouTube channel "Sangsu-dong workshop."
That day, writer Ahn looked at Park Nam-jung and his daughter Si-eun and opened by saying, "Looking at you two, I feel like there's accelerated aging and slowed aging, you know? Really slowed aging," and Rado praised them, saying, "Definitely a specimen."
Park Nam-jung said, "I don't think I'm that youthful myself," and his daughter Si-eun agreed, saying, "Even I think you're youthful," while writer Ahn said, "I think there's probably no weight difference compared to active idols."
Rado asked, "Isn't there almost no weight difference between then and now?" and Park Nam-jung replied, "Not a big difference. Within 5kg," expressing confidence in his self-management.
Park Nam-jung is so diligent about his body that he even restrains his eating. Park Nam-jung said, "I restrain myself a lot. I used to like eating, and one of my wishes is to eat to my heart's content."
Hearing this, Rado said, "Then you could eat as much as you want," but Park Nam-jung replied, "Then my belly would stick out. I hate that. I think it's in my nature. I've been conscious of my waistline since I was 20," showing a firm response. Park Si-eun, who closely resembles her father, also has a set diet routine.
Rado asked Park Nam-jung about exercise, alcohol and smoking, and Park Nam-jung said, "I don't do anything special for exercise; I do running. I smoke on a set day. Wednesday afternoons every week. I don't know what others might think, but I consider smoking essential in my life."
At Park Nam-jung's remark, Rado was surprised and said, "Smoking is essential.." and Park Nam-jung explained, "Occasionally, for the sake of getting rid of distracting thoughts, I manage it that way." Rado then asked, "Then what if Si-eun smokes?" and Park Nam-jung expressed his conviction, saying, "I wouldn't recommend it, but I wouldn't stop her."
When Rado and writer Ahn were surprised, Park Nam-jung said firmly, "She does it on her own. If it helps her life and mental health. If stress from elsewhere builds up and she breaks down, that's worse," and Si-eun, as if hearing this many times, emphasized, "I already knew. My dad has long said at home, 'Whether you drink or smoke, do it at home. Don't do it secretly.' That doesn't mean I did it."
Meanwhile, Park Nam-jung married former model Heo Eun-joo in 1999 and has two daughters. The eldest daughter, Park Si-eun, started as a child actress and is currently active as a member of the group StayC.
