Actor Choi Ji-woo is ending her journey as an MC on KBS 2TV's Superman Returns (hereafter Superman Returns).
On the last recording of Superman Returns held on the 24th, Choi Ji-woo continued her role as narrator with her usual warm and sincere empathy. After finishing all filming with co-MCs Park Soo-hong and Ahn Young-mi, she said, "I was always excited at the thought of meeting the children on screen every Superman Returns filming day. It felt like growing together for a year and a half, and I received a lot of warm smiles and deep emotion."
Choi Ji-woo joined as a new MC last June to mark Superman Returns' 11th anniversary. Beyond simple narration, she shared honest parenting experiences as a "late-blooming mother," earning viewers' empathy, and with her characteristic warm gaze and gentle tone she expressed sincere affection for the children on the program, creating heartwarming scenes. In particular, in Jang Dong-min's daughter Ji-woo's episode she appeared in person and showed herself caring attentively for the child, drawing attention, and at times she brought viewers to tears by recalling her own daughter.
Choi Ji-woo is set to open the film Sugar this year. Sugar tells the story of working mom Mira (Choi Ji-woo), who fights hard for her young son Dong-myung, who is diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, and ends up changing the world. Choi Ji-woo reportedly decided to appear in the film in sympathy with its aim to raise awareness about children with type 1 diabetes.
Having finished her activities on variety shows and set to focus fully on acting, expectations are growing for what new emotions Choi Ji-woo will convey through her projects.
