Actor Ji Chang-wook and Doh Kyung Soo's highly anticipated new Disney+ series The Manipulated unveiled its main poster and trailer.
On the 15th, the Disney+ new original series The Manipulated (written by Oh Sang-ho, directed by Park Shin-woo and Kim Chang-joo) released its main poster and trailer.
The Manipulated is an action drama in which Tae-jung (Ji Chang-wook), who lived an ordinary life, is one day unjustly implicated in a heinous crime and sent to prison, and then discovers that everything was planned by Yohan (Doh Kyung Soo), prompting him to carry out revenge against him.
The first released main poster features striking images of characters showcasing their individuality. Tae-jung's resolute expression, paired with the copy "The game you made, I finish," heightens curiosity about his story of losing everything overnight and racing fiercely for revenge. Meanwhile, Yohan's impassive face exudes a chilling charisma and intensifies curiosity about how far he will go as someone who reshapes others' lives at will.
Especially, the two posed like broken statues—Tae-jung's eyes burning with vengeance contrasted with Yohan's detached gaze that seems to look down on everything—raising expectations for their fierce confrontation. Also, Tae-jung's aides Yong-sik (Kim Jong-soo) and Eun-bi (Jo Yoon-soo) show grim expressions, and Yohan's VIP client Dok-gyeong (Lee Kwang-soo) projects an unusual aura, promising a fresh synergy and making viewers anticipate the even more thrilling story that will unfold as they become entangled.
The released main trailer begins with Tae-jung preparing revenge after being wrongly accused and imprisoned, seizing attention. Yohan, who provides special security services for the top 1 percent, piques curiosity about how his business operates by offering his client an intriguing proposal, saying, "I will make it as if it never happened from the start."
When Yohan, who monitored Tae-jung's every move using CCTV, declares, "Let's carve him," confirming him as the target, the employees begin precise preparations, amplifying tension by provoking the realistic fear that anyone could be "carved." As the copy reads, "I was carved," Tae-jung, upon learning that his misfortune was caused by Yohan, breaks out of prison to seek revenge and reveals burning anger toward Yohan, saying, "I'll kill you no matter what," deepening curiosity about whether his revenge will succeed.
As Ji Chang-wook said, "There are various action scenes and so many sights that it's visually enjoyable," the spectacle—ranging from bare-knuckle action in prison to a breathless bike chase and car racing—promises viewers a thrilling catharsis. In addition, with Ji Chang-wook, Doh Kyung Soo, Kim Jong-soo, Jo Yoon-soo and Lee Kwang-soo, the explosive ensemble of reliably strong actors is expected to further heighten immersion in The Manipulated.
The Manipulated, which raises expectations with Ji Chang-wook's furious rush for revenge and Doh Kyung Soo's intense clash as he debuts as a villain, the synergy of fresh actors such as Kim Jong-soo, Jo Yoon-soo and Lee Kwang-soo, and the solid writing of Oh Sang-ho of the "Taxi Driver" series, will release four episodes on Nov. 5 and then release two episodes weekly to total 12 episodes.
