KBS2 'Problem Child in House'에서 Yang Se-chan offers sympathy and comfort to Jin Tae-hyun, who revealed he is undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer.
The KBS2 variety show Problem Child in House (hereinafter "Okmun-a"), which airs on Thursday the 16th, reunites the problem children who packed every bit of trivia into their brains over the past seven years for a dopamine-charged quiz war over outrageous questions, with Song Eun-i, Kim Sook, Kim Jong-kook, Hong Jin Kyung, Yang Se-chan and Joo Woo-jae competing.
This week's broadcast will feature the famously loving couple Park Si-eun and Jin Tae-hyun as guests on the rooftop show. Among them, Yang Se-chan draws attention by sharing a deep bond of sympathy with Jin Tae-hyun, who experienced the same battle with thyroid cancer.
That day Yang Se-chan congratulated Jin Tae-hyun on saying he is completely cured to the point he stopped taking medication, and surprised everyone by revealing, "I am still taking medicine." He, too, was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer 12 years ago and underwent treatment. Yang Se-chan recalled, "We went for a group health checkup with the comedians and it was discovered. I was rehearsing for 'Comedy Big League' when I got a call."
He added, "There wasn't even time to be sad then. My colleagues were like, 'He has cancer. Cancer~ cancer~' and made a ruckus to comfort me," conveying the colleagues' efforts to encourage him and moving viewers.
Meanwhile, Yang Se-chan attracted interest by citing fatigue as a sign of thyroid cancer. When Jin Tae-hyun said, "After the surgery the fatigue disappeared. For three to four years I struggled every afternoon," Yang Se-chan strongly agreed, saying, "That's right. I've even slept for 10 hours straight." Yang Se-chan shared, "After sleeping 10 hours, I was commuting with Lee Yong-jin and kept yawning. My body was sending signals," recounting his experience and surprising everyone.
At that moment, when Jin Tae-hyun sent a sympathetic look and said, "My routine completely changed after the surgery. I eat healthy food. Isn't that right?", Yang Se-chan confessed, "I ate healthy food for six months, but at some point I found myself eating jjambbong rice," which reportedly drew laughter.
