The studio of Park Dae-seong, the 'master of Korean ink painting' and the painter loved by BTS RM, will be revealed for the first time on television through Seo Jang-hoon's Neighbor Millionaire. Also revealed will be the warm everyday life with his wife, painter Jeong Mi-yeon, the "master of sacred painting" (성화).
The EBS program Seo Jang-hoon's Neighbor Millionaire, which airs on the 15th, will fully reveal the life story of Park Dae-seong, the "master of Korean ink painting" and a "genius painter," a life more dramatic than a drama.
Although he lost one arm in an accident at age 4, he rose to the top of the art world entirely through self-study and astonished the world as "the myth of Korean painting" and "the miracle with one arm." In particular, Park Dae-seong is also well known as the "painter loved by BTS RM," a well-known art enthusiast. RM visited his exhibitions held in the U.S., Gyeongju, Seoul and elsewhere several times in person, certifying himself as a fan of Park Dae-seong's work and drawing attention.
This broadcast will also feature Park Dae-seong's wife, painter Jeong Mi-yeon, known as the "master of sacred painting" (성화). The two will reveal their special bond through art and the daily life of a "husband-and-wife painter" duo. Viewers can look forward to the first broadcast revealing Park Dae-seong's secret studio located inside a surreal-level art house surrounded by UNESCO World Heritage sites.
In his space filled with stationery, ink scent and brush tools, a wondrous tension and admiration spread every time Park Dae-seong picks up a brush. But then Seo Jang-hoon and Jang Ye-won's "Park Dae-seong disciple challenge" begins, and the mood changes dramatically. Seo Jang-hoon methodically demonstrates a refined painting style as taught, while Jang Ye-won confronts him with bold brushwork. Their laughter-filled, self-praising and competitive "brush-stroking duel" promises to deliver delightful fun.
Meanwhile, Seo Jang-hoon reveals his undeniable "desire" for Park Dae-seong's works. In front of the pieces he says, "Honestly, if no one is watching, I would secretly like to take one," delivering his characteristic candid remark and provoking laughter.
Meanwhile, Park Dae-seong's works that even made the "2 trillion giant" Seo Jang-hoon covet, and the artistic spirit behind his 74-year painting life, can be seen on Oct. 15, Wednesday at 9:55 p.m. on EBS's Seo Jang-hoon's Neighbor Millionaire.
Also, the Seo Jang-hoon's Neighbor Millionaire episode on Park Dae-seong will be presented as a two-part special airing over two weeks on Oct. 15 and 22.
