BigHit Music's rookie group CORTIS has appeared on the U.S. Billboard charts for five consecutive weeks.
According to the latest chart (Oct. 18) released by U.S. music outlet Billboard on the 14th, CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Geonho)'s debut record COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES ranked No. 2 on the World Albums chart.
In particular, it rose to No. 16 on Top Album Sales and Top Current Album Sales, which track physical album sales in the U.S., climbing 11 and 8 spots respectively from the previous week. It is notable that they re-entered the top 20 after their official activities ended. This underlines that CORTIS has built a solid fandom in the United States, the center of the global music market.
The album proved its global appeal by surpassing 100 million cumulative streams on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, as of the 12th.
CORTIS's momentum is also visible on domestic music charts. The intro track "GO!" set a personal best by ranking No. 89 on the latest Melon weekly chart (tracking period: Oct. 6-12). The song broke into that chart as the first boy group that debuted this year to do so and drew major attention by being recalled on music shows.
Even after the official promotion period for their debut album ended, CORTIS has been busy fulfilling schedules as they continue to receive love calls from the U.S. market. On the 5th they became the first Korean artists to serve as Honorary Falconers for LAFC, the team for which Son Heung-min plays. On the 11th they attended the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final, and on the 12th they held a roughly one-hour "GO!" dance workshop in Los Angeles where the members personally taught choreography.
