On tvN's Handsome Guys, rising variety stars Shin Seung-ho and Oh Sang-wook provoke laughs by even attempting the ultimate in silliness: stocking masks.
tvN's Handsome Guys (directed by Ryu Ho-jin, Yoon In-hoe, Lee Seung-hwan; hereafter "Handsomez") follows five men who once lacked nothing but suddenly find themselves "lacking." The show is a cheerful struggle of five men overcoming this ordeal. The raw laughter that emerges from situations of "shortage" and the members' well-developed chemistry are creating explosive synergy and adding to the show's growing word-of-mouth buzz day by day.
In the 45th episode airing on the 16th (Thursday), the Handsomez members mark a camping day and, while they had previously been willing to compete and betray for victory, they temporarily set aside individualism to receive a new tribe mission to boost teamwork. In other words, they enter a "private life tribe life" where they bind one arm to each other and accompany each other full time.
Paired two by two with their arms bound, the Handsomez members even have to go to the bathroom together. Meanwhile, the person who wins first place through the game becomes the tribe chief and can seize absolute power, including protection of personal privacy and the authority to choose a partner, prompting the members to throw themselves into the games to become tribe chief and creating laughs.
Especially for the "can-throwing game," the Handsomez members even gambled with their looks to grab attention. To throw the can, members had to wear stocking masks on their faces, and the features rearranged by the high-elasticity stockings triggered laughter. Among them, variety expert Kim Dong-hyun confidently put the stocking on upside down, and Lee Yi-kyung and Oh Sang-wook exclaimed in unison, "This face is much better," showering praise, while Shin Seung-ho added to the hilarity by shouting that Cha Tae-hyun looked "like a sea lion."
Meanwhile, facing such a hardcore game, the rising variety duo Shin Seung-ho and Oh Sang-wook are expected to draw attention with different approaches. Oh Sang-wook, not realizing his hair was covering his eyes, puzzledly asked, "Can you see with this on?" in a clumsy moment, yet even with the stocking on he displayed a striking look that prompted laughs. By contrast, Handsomez's scheming king Shin Seung-ho, saying "My eyesight isn't great," wore glasses inside the stocking to preserve his features, showing the younger brother's class above his energetic older brothers. However, Kim Dong-hyun reportedly left his hands up, saying, "That trick really kills me," and Shin Seung-ho, whose clever tricks backfired, finds himself in the greatest crisis.
What will happen to the Handsomez members who suddenly face the "private life tribe," and which member will claim the title of tribe chief is what the broadcast will watch closely.
