(Following interview ②) Rown expressed his expectations as "actor Rown" who will enter his 30s.
On the 15th at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno District, Seoul, an interview was held with Rown, the lead actor of Disney+'s original series "The Murky Stream."
"The Murky Stream" (directed by Chu Chang-min / written by Cheon Seong-il) is a destiny-pioneering action drama that depicts the stories of people who dream different dreams to set right a corrupt world and live like human beings, set on Gyeonggang, where all the money and goods of Joseon gather.
Rown played the lead Jang Si-yul and delivered a passionate performance, portraying a bully and making his most intense acting transformation since his debut.
On the day, Rown reflected on finishing "The Murky Stream," saying, I also felt like something was released when I acted. Among the many sides of me, through Si-yul I sometimes felt free and relieved. Every time filming ended, I felt like, 'That was delicious.' From now on I will take acting seriously and do well. But I feel like I poured every single day into the acting I can do at 28.
Awaiting military enlistment, Rown spoke about his recent changes: I think feeling satisfied with the process rather than the result is something for me. Choosing and focusing also seems to be for me. Rather than finding happiness in having things and sharing, I only recently feel that finding happiness in sharing is valuable.
He continued, There was an occasion. A company employee told me, 'You seem to have good energy. You give a lot of energy,' and a fan who was in a hospice ward came to know me and said they got much better. Of course there are many fans' stories, but when I heard it I couldn't ignore it, so I visited that person and gave an autograph and goods. I also dropped off Japanese fan meeting tickets. And at a restaurant I paid for a meal for a wife and husband who were dining together.
He added, I'm so happy their health improved, but I was happy to realize that I can be that kind of person to someone. I should share this positive energy more. That experience seems to be the driving force that lets me live as a better person, he said, creating a warm moment.
When asked how he felt about returning to acting in his 30s after discharge, Rown confidently replied, I think I'll be so sexy. Really, which drew laughter. He added, I'm really looking forward to it. I'm also looking forward to my 40s. I'm also looking forward to my 50s. I have a sense of expectation that I might be able to experience things more by letting go a little.
Finally, as a message to fans before entering the military, Rown joked, I'll adapt well. I'll serve really coolly, so don't worry. I hope you'll look forward to me when I come back. For 1 year and 6 months there will be many of my works on OTT channels. I would appreciate it if you keep watching consistently.
