Beautiful Nerd-led four-member mixed band Gochu Jamjari released their first full-length album and has secured its spot as an emerging act in the band scene.
Gochu Jamjari is a mixed band composed of Choi Je-woo (vocal), Jeon Gyeong-min (bass), Kim Seung-gi (drums) and Jeong Hee-su (guitar), formed through the YouTube channel Beautiful Nerd, which has 1.42 million subscribers. Content derived from the channel segment "MZ를 찾아서" gained popularity and expanded into a real-life version of the band, culminating in the release of their first full-length album.
The first full-length album Misaeng, released on the 12th, includes nine tracks in total: double title tracks "Georeojullae" and "Seed," as well as "Opening," "My Today," "Beautiful Nerd!," "I hate myself," "To autumn (feat. Ryeojin)," "Little Spring," and "The star called you."
The group's aim to become a rare band unlike any other and their unique yet solid musical worldview are fully reflected in the nine songs included on the album.
The title track "Georeojullae" conveys the message that, although facing fear and hesitation, if together you can walk again. It represents moments of anxiety everyone experiences and creates the strength to overcome that anxiety. This song captures the emotional flow from despair to hope.
Fans' reactions to the "Georeojullae" music video, which encapsulates Gochu Jamjari's musical identity and narrative, have been enthusiastic. The music video is composed of videos sent by fans for cuts that fit the song's theme, delivering a deeper resonance.
