Group NMIXX member Seol-yun will launch variety show activities alongside her comeback promotions.
On the 14th, OSEN reported that Seol-yun will appear as a special MC on the KBS2 variety program "Mr. House Husband season 2." Seol-yun's episode is scheduled to air on the 18th.
"Mr. House Husband season 2" (hereafter "Mr. House Husband") is a program that captures the real household lives of celebrity homemakers. Eun Ji-won and Baek Ji-young serve as MCs, with singer Park Seo-jin, Lee Min-woo, actor Park Young-gyu, and broadcaster Ji Sang-ryeol appearing as regular cast members. The 401st episode broadcast on Jul. 19 recorded a 7.1% rating (Nielsen Korea national), and the 413th episode broadcast on the 11th recorded 4.2%, showing stable ratings.
"Mr. House Husband" has given extra entertainment by featuring a special MC each episode alongside regulars Park Seo-jin, Lee Min-woo, Park Young-gyu and Ji Sang-ryeol. Special MCs have included Han Geu-ru, Yang Ji-eun, Yoon Tae-jin, Kwon Eun-bi, STAYC's Sieun, Kim Tae-yeon, Nam Bo-ra, Yoon Eun-hye, Han Bo-reum, Kyung Soo-jin, Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon, Song Ga-in, Chuu, Woo Ah Nana, Ham Eun-jung, izna Bang Ji-min and Jeong Se-bi, ITZY's Lia and Yuna, fromis_9's Park Ji-won and Baek Ji-heon, Choi Ye-na, TOMORROW X TOGETHER's Soobin, The Boyz's Juyeon, Kiki Jiyu, Artemis's Hee-jin, MOMOLAND's Nancy and others, and Seol-yun has also been added to the list.
This is Seol-yun's second time appearing as a special MC on "Mr. House Husband" from the group NMIXX. Earlier in March, Haewon served as a special MC on "Mr. House Husband." The episode featuring Haewon recorded a 6.2% rating, and Haewon not only performed the new song "KNOW ABOUT ME" but also added viewing pleasure with various reactions.
Considered a representative visual of 4th-generation girl groups, Seol-yun has shown her variety skills on programs such as "Weekly Idol," "I Live Alone," "Song Stiller," and "Gag Concert." Notably, she served as an MC on MBC's "Show! Music Core" from Apr. 2023 until Feb. of this year, and despite her doll-like looks she is known for being bold and down-to-earth with the nickname "Seol Jang-gun," so expectations are high for what she will show as a "Mr. House Husband" special MC.
Meanwhile, NMIXX, the group Seol-yun belongs to, released their first full-length album Blue Valentine and the title track of the same name on the 13th. As of 12 a.m. on the 14th, the title track "Blue Valentine" ranked 11th on Melon Top 100, No. 1 on Hot 100 (100 days), No. 1 on Hot 100 (30 days), and No. 1 on Bugs real-time chart. The new release topped the Hanteo album chart at 10 p.m. on the 13th and, as of 8 a.m. on the 14th, was No. 1 on Korea's Apple Music top album chart and No. 1 on iTunes top album charts in overseas markets including Hong Kong, Kazakhstan and Singapore, continuing its popularity surge.
Meanwhile, KBS2's "Mr. House Husband 2" airs every Saturday at 10:45 p.m.
