The group CORTIS set a "hundreds of millions of streams" record on Spotify.
CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Geonho)'s debut album "COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES" surpassed 100 million cumulative streams on the world's largest music streaming platform Spotify as of the 12th. It is an achievement reached in about a month since the album's release, making it the fastest among K-pop rookies who debuted this year to reach 100 million cumulative plays.
This is thanks to the title track "What You Want" as well as the album tracks achieving "multi-hit" success. CORTIS's debut album includes six tracks in total, including the streaming-only "What You Want (feat. Teezo Touchdown)." "GO!" led the success with 35.61 million plays, "FaSHioN" had 26.14 million plays, and "What You Want" (17.03 million) and "JoyRide" (11.25 million) each surpassed 10 million streams, showing broad popularity.
In particular, the intro track "GO!" has climbed domestic music charts. The song continued to perform well on U.S. Billboard charts after the end of debut promotions and began drawing renewed attention after being featured in a promotional video for the U.S. major league baseball (MLB) postseason. Riding that momentum, it re-entered the Melon daily chart at No. 97 (Oct. 4) and rose to No. 86 in the latest chart (Oct. 12), setting a new personal best. The track has been steadily rising on that chart, so its future trajectory is being watched.
Meanwhile, CORTIS has been expanding activities overseas after receiving love calls from the U.S. market. They served as honorary falconers for LAFC, the club where player Son Heung-min is a member, becoming the first Korean artists to do so. They also became the first K-pop artists to sign a partnership with energy drink brand Red Bull and were invited to the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final held in Los Angeles, drawing strong interest.
