LG Twins pitcher Im Chan-gyu directly addressed reports that he was to marry Son Sae-eun, a golfer who is the younger sister of singer and actress Son Na-eun, in December.
On the 13th, one outlet reported that Im Chan-gyu and Son Sae-eun were scheduled to hold their wedding at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul on Dec. 12.
After the report, Im Chan-gyu said on his personal social media, "The news that I am getting married this year is not true, and I will let you know personally if it is decided."
Im Chan-gyu and Son Sae-eun have been one of the high-profile couples in sports who have publicly dated since Jan. 2022, and Im Chan-gyu previously said he met her through a blind date and continued their relationship after appearing on the E-channel variety show "No-Neun Bro 2" the same year.
Meanwhile, Im Chan-gyu joined the LG Twins as a pitcher in 2011 and is active with the team; he contributed to his club's regular-season victory this year and is currently awaiting the Korea Series games.
Son Sae-eun joined the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) as a semi-pro in 2017 and appeared on the tvN golf variety show "Golfengers" in 2021. She drew attention in particular after it became known that she is the younger sister of former Apink member Son Na-eun.
