Broadcaster Ji Ye-eun stopped activities due to health problems, and distressing news arrived about two months later.
On the 14th it was reported that Ji Ye-eun suspended activities because of hypothyroidism. Regarding this, her agency CP Entertainment told OSEN, "Please understand that it is difficult to confirm accurately because it is personal medical information," expressing a cautious stance.
Earlier in August the agency CP Entertainment said in August, "Ji Ye-eun will take care of her health and focus on recovery starting in September. We will provide all necessary support so the actor can take sufficient rest and return," announcing a temporary suspension of activities.
Accordingly, Ji Ye-eun decided to take a three-week break from filming the SBS variety show Running Man, where she was a regular. Relatedly, Yoo Jae-suk said on the Running Man broadcast on the 12th, "I understand Ye-eun had something related to burnout, but that is not the case. She is briefly undergoing treatment now."
Ji Seok-jin said, "Her health checkup showed she needs treatment," and Haha said, "Once treatment is finished she will return soon." Yoo Jae-suk also added, "I spoke with Ji Ye-eun on the phone, and she said she is much better now."
However, the specific diagnosis had not been disclosed; it was reported that Ji Ye-eun felt something was wrong with her health, went to the hospital, and discovered decreased thyroid function, leading her to temporarily halt activities. Her agency has been withholding comment.
Ji Ye-eun is an alumna of the acting department at Korea National University of Arts and debuted in theater in 2017. She quickly rose to stardom after appearing in the Coupang Play variety series SNL Korea. Riding that success, she joined Running Man as a new regular member and also appeared in variety programs such as Coupang Play's Office Workers and Netflix's Kian's Bizarre B&B.
