Director Jang Hang-jun revealed the story of being slapped by his wife, writer Kim Eun-hee, after defending actor Jung Woong-in.
Jung Woong-in appeared on the general programming channel Channel A's 'Close friends to- documentary: Four-person dining table,' which aired the afternoon of the 13th. Jung Woong-in invited director Jang Hang-jun, his classmate from Seoul Institute of the Arts, and actress Song Sun-mi, who filmed the movie 'Attack the Gas Station' with him, to share memories.
Jang Hang-jun mentioned about his childhood, "I grew up well when I was young, and when I was a junior in high school our house went bankrupt. But even though the house went bankrupt, the household wasn't struggling or living like that. Even when I was young there were always people working at the house, and we had a driver. Actually, the world got better so we dine together now; in the old days you couldn't dine with me."
He continued, "When I was a freshman in high school my father said at breakfast, 'Honey, find out how much it takes to get into Korea University,' because his child was doing so poorly in school. So I thought, 'Oh, is it going to be like this?' but when the bankruptcy came in my sophomore year it didn't happen. Looking back, the bankruptcy happened in a strangely perfect way."
Jang Hang-jun added, "The only time I truly lived poorly was when I got married and moved out on my own. It was when I really started living by my own strength. That's when I realized I didn't have ability."
Jung Woong-in confessed, "This guy lived a really hard life. Writer Kim Eun-hee also did well later. It was when none of us were anything. It was a small apartment, but we visited often, and I even fought with Eun-hee over a dog there."
On that, Jang Hang-jun said, "The three of us drank quite a bit, and at the time we had a Yorkshire terrier named Micky at our house, and Micky bit Jung Woong-in. Woong-in said, 'How cute,' and Micky bit hard. He was about to put his hand toward the dog, but my wife shouted. She's not that kind of person but she was startled. I said, 'Eun-hee, what are you doing to my friend?' At some point I looked and she had slapped him," he recounted, drawing laughter.
Jung Woong-in added, "We fought at the time. Then I said, 'Hello, writer Kim. I will work hard so I can take part in projects.'"
